Larry Dwight “LC” Carter Sr., 60 of Indianapolis, formerly of Danville passed his life on November 2, 2022 at his residence.

Larry was born February 28, 1962, in Danville, IL to the late Lawrence and Jeanette Carter.  He is known for his black leather Coat, gloves and shades. He had a passion for cars, playing spades, dominoes and listening to music. Larry loved cooking, grilling and also hanging with Family and friends. Larry had a very strong belief in The Lord. He spent many hours reading his bible and studying in his pamphlets.

Larry attended Northridge and Danville high school. He left Danville after enrolling into Job corps in Grand Rapids Michigan where he earned a high school diploma in 1979.  He furthered his education and graduated with a certificate in culinary arts. He returned to Danville and begin working in food service for varies schools and hospitals. He worked numerous of factory jobs in Danville over the years; to list a few they were, Mclane midwest, CCL and Krupp.

Larry was loved by many which includes his companion of 20yrs Brenda Shaw. They raised seven children which  Larry Leaves to cherish his memory, three daughters Tiffany (Mario) Shaw-Crosby of East. St. Louis Brittany Shaw of Champaign Urbana, Laketia (Edward) Carter-Duckworth of Rantoul IL. Two Sons Jason Shaw Champaign IL and Alben Carter  of Rantoul IL; Two sisters; Sylvia Grear and Verna (Ernest) Plummer Two brothers Timothy (Tasha) Carter and Sherman Hocketta all of Danville IL.  Grandchildren; Demetrious “Meechie Man” Groves, Marnajha Crosby, Taniya Poke, Lakiya Williams, Kassidy Shaw, Edward Duckworth Jr and Ed’lisiya Duckworth and Six great grandchildren.  Special Uncle Dwight Lucas, special Cousin Erica Echols Martin and host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, His Sons Larry D. Carter Jr., Charles Fontleroy, Granddaughter E’lisyia Duckworth, Brother Ivan Carter, Sister Vickee Carter, two nephews Bryson Carter and Anthony Carter. Three aunts Audrey Lucas, Joyce Smith and Kay Carter and two uncles Jack Carter and George Carter.
 

A Homegoing Celebration of Life will commence at 12:00 Noon Friday November 11, 2022 at Leek & Sons Funeral Home 304 E. Williams, Danville. Eulogist: Apostle Charles Hargrove. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow after at Sanhill Memorial Park.
