Our Beloved Kim Coletta Wesley McCoy was born on November 5, 1956, in Marion, Indiana to Howard Lee Wesley and Joan Reeves. She departed this life on Thursday, July 6, 2023.
Kim attended Marion, IN City Schools and graduated from Marion, IN High School in 1975. She attended Indiana Wesleyan College and Danville Area Community College.
For many years, she worked as a CNA. She enjoyed crocheting, watching games shows on GSN Network, going to church functions, spending time with her grand and great-grandchildren, coloring, doing word searches, and spending time with family and friends.
Kim married the love of her life Jerome Allen McCoy on April 9th, 2005 after many years together.
She leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Joan; son, H. Decarlos (Nina) Wesley of Champaign, Illinois; bonus son, Philip Reeves of Covington, Georgia; daughter, Tanisha (late Joseph Jr.) Henry of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; bonus daughter, Nichole Dye of Riverdale, Georgia; two sisters, Jolynn (Leon) Barbee of Halls, Tennessee and Dr. Michelle (Allerick) Knight of Lawrenceville, Georgia; four brothers, Charles (Deborah) Barber of Cario, Illinois, Janssen (Kim) Barber of Murrieta, California, Jeffery (Karen) Barber of Columbia, South Carolina and Tyrone Wesley of Paducah, Kentucky; two sister-n-laws, Angela (Marvin) McCoy-Jackson and Margo (Russell) McCoy-Palmer of Indianapolis, Indiana; 4 grandsons, DeMarieyea Wesley (Shauntae Briggs) of Indianapolis, Indiana, DeCauryea Wesley of Danville, Illinois, and Nezrell and Navell King of Stone Mountain, Georgia; 3 granddaughters, DeTyNaja Wesley of Danville, Illinois, NaTayja Davis and Nebecca King of Stone Mountain, Georgia; 2 great-grandsons, DeMarius Wesley of Indianapolis, Indiana and Kross King of Stone Mountain, Georgia; 3 great-granddaughters, Desire and Syanaa Wesley of Indianapolis, Indiana and Jalaija White of Stone Mountain, Georgia; Best friend, Tyann Cobb of Marion, Indiana; friend, Laverne; special friend, Melvin of Danville, Illinois; and, a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Kim was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome; father, Howard Lee; sister, Tonetta (Toni) Richard; paternal and maternal grandparents; aunt, Ruth Ann Nash; niece, Aundrea Thompson; brother-n-law, Brian Elam; bonus son, Devon Dye; and her friend, Margaret Patton Pearson.
A Celebration of Life will commence at 12:00 Noon Saturday July 15, 2023 at Leek & Sons Funeral Home 304 E. Williams St., Danville. Eulogist: Bishop Scott Tillman. A visitation will begin at 11:00 am until the time of the service.
