Kevin R. Flowers departed this life on April 4, 2021, surrounded by his family. Kevin was the youngest child of 14 of John and Violet Flowers. He was born October 27, 1955.
Kevin graduated from Champaign Central High School. Kevin was employed by the University of Illinois. He was also the bassist for Candy Foster and the Shades of Blue and for Stone
Creek Church of Urbana. He played with many talented musicians and bands throughout the years.
Kevin loved playing the bass and getting together with his friends to jam, play golf, horseshoes, dominoes, chess, Tonk, and to watch the Illini and the Cubs play.
Preceding him in death were his parents, brothers: Jack (Evelyn), James, Terry, Larry, Melvin, and Kenny Flowers; and his sisters: Maxine (James) Brown, Marlene Simmons, and Marianne
(James) Edwards.
Kevin was dearly loved and respected. He will truly be missed by his family and many friends. Left to cherish his wonderful memory are his three sons: Chris (Kathy) Moore of Danville,
Cody Flowers of Champaign, and Jordan Flowers of Champaign; and ex-wife: Jenny Flowers; brothers: Danny (Carolyn) Flowers of Indianapolis, Nick (Joyce) Flowers and Gary Pat (Julia) Flowers of Danville, and sister: Gretchen Bush of Champaign. He also leaves a host of caring nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial will be at Stone Creek Church in Urbana on April 17, 2021 visitation at 10:00 a.m., funeral services at 11:00 a.m.
