Kenneth E. Pearson peacefully passed from this life on January 13, 2026. He was lovingly known by many names—Kenneth, Kenny, Kenneth Russell, and Ken—each reflecting the different roles he played in the lives of those who knew and loved him.
Kenneth was born on April 15, 1946, in Champaign, Illinois, where he was raised and educated in the neighborhood schools. Throughout his life, he worked various jobs in the Champaign area, one of which was the University of Illinois, and he was known for his dedication and resilience.
In 1963, Kenneth answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Army. After completing his training and spending a short time stationed in Hawaii, he was deployed to Vietnam. During his service, he was wounded in active duty and was awarded the Purple Heart for his bravery and sacrifice. He was honorably discharged and later returned home to Champaign.
Kenneth was married and blessed with children, whom he loved dearly. He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Sylvia Troutman of Indiana, and twins Kendra and Kennel; his sister, Doraine Pearson; his brother, Louis Stacker; his aunt, Mrs. Mae Kendrick; his niece, Keisha Stacker; along with cousins and other loving family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Dennis Pearson, and his niece, Heather Pearson.
The family of Kenneth E. Pearson sincerely thanks all who have shown acts of kindness, support, and sympathy during this time of bereavement. Your compassion and prayers are deeply appreciated.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday February 18, 2026 at Danville National Cemetery
