Keith Konrad Kelly was born on March 13, 1953, in Danville, Illinois. His parents were Lee Ella Brandon Kelly, and Henry F. Kelly. He accepted Christ in his youth and was baptized into the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church family under the pastorate of Rev. Jesse L. Clark. At the time of his passing, he was a member of New Union Missionary Baptist Church where Rev. Steve Gilbert is pastor. He was formerly married to the late Lynn Anding Kelly.
Keith attended Danville public schools and graduated from Danville High School. He went on to technical school where he graduated a Certified Data Entry Technician. This educational endeavor allowed him to serve as a data entry technician for the United States Air Force where he served for four years.
Upon his return from military service, he worked at Central Foundry General Motors Division in Tilton, Illinois until the company closed. He relocated to Kokomo, Indiana with General Motors and retired there after 25 years of employment. Upon returning to Danville, he worked at the Veterans Administration Hospital in the Dietary Department until full retirement.
Keith held a master’s degree as a Pianist and was a very accomplished musician. He was dedicated to his craft and found great joy in sharing his gift by playing for church services that needed a musician, and he played for many in and around the Christian community. He also enjoyed carpentry and lawn care and was said to have had one of the best kept lawns in the neighborhood. Keith was blessed with a servant’s heart, and an exceptional spirit of generosity selflessly helping many churches and individuals throughout his lifetime.
He leaves to cherish his memory, sisters Jane (Dr. George) Campbell-DeBose and Karen Kay Harrell (his Twin), and brother Mark (Kim) Kelly, and Aunt Mrs. Naomi Hill, and a number of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by sisters, Eloise Murphy, Marva Kelly, Joyce Fench, Janice (Leroy) Carter, and Beverly Jean (George) Gouard, and brothers, Henry, Robert, Charles, Roy, Jimmie, and Eric Daniel.
Keith was loved by his family and will be sorely missed.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday March 9, 2026 at Danville National Cemetery.
