Katie Frances Smith 79, of Oklahoma City, received her wings on October 8th at 9:20 pm surrounded by her FAMILY. Katie was born June 20, 1945 in Oma, MS to the late Walter and Susanna(Walker) Smith.
Katie attended Danville, IL School system and later moved to Oklahoma City, where she married the love of her life the Late Earl Carl Ervin Sr. Out of this union they had four beautiful children. Katie retired in housekeeping where she was dedicated to her work. Take your REST, you fought a good fight of FAITH.
Katie enjoyed spending time with her family and most importantly being in the kitchen cooking and baking and bringing her family and grandkids together on Sundays and the holidays. Katie enjoyed playing spades with her Danville, il family and making them laugh.
Katie is survived by her 3 children, her son; Earl Carl Ervin Jr, 2 Daughter's, Carla Ervin and her adopted daughter Kecia Lewis all of Oklahoma City. siblings, Louise Finch; Elaine Darnell; Willie(Sylvia) Smith; Larry Smith; Everett Smith and Percy Smith. And a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. And a special niece Melody Finch.
In addition to her parent's, Katie was proceeded in death by her husband; two daughters Betty M. Ervin and Monica R. Adams-Ervin; her sisters Evonne Tyson; Luverene Brown and Ethel Watson and a Brother Walter C. Smith.
Many thanks to Katie's, hospice team,the doctor's and family and friends who came to support her with her battle with cancer. To my Danville , California, Ohio and Kansas Family Thank you for the flowers. Thank you New Hope Baptist Church for all your prayers, support and Love.
