Joe Pascal was born April 25, 1948 in Hughes Arkansas to the late Eddie Pascal and Zella Mae Pascal.
He departed this life May 8, 2025. Joe was united in holy matrimony to Freddie Jean Pascal on August 2, 1980. From this union they had two loving daughters, Sharda Pascal and Simone Herbert. Who blessed them with five grandchildren; Jayla Herbert, Gianna Herbert, Aaliyah Herbert, Skylar Herbert and Kamdyn Pascal. Joe also leaves behind his daughter, Dionne Anding, his two granddaughters and five great grandchildren. Joe also leaves behind his son, Jermaine Atcher, his children and grandchildren.
Joe was a devoted husband, a loving father, a proud grandfather,and a faithful member and usher at Second Baptist Church. He was a dedicated educator, a coach and mentor to countless students at Danville High School. He left a lasting impact on the lives he helped shape both in the classroom and on the field. Joe graduated from Danville High School and went on to attend Danville Area Community College. He later transferred to Illinois State University, where he earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in physical and health education.
He leaves three sisters , Martha Glasgow , Ruby Collins, and Evelyn Pascal and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. He also leaves, five sister in laws; Betty Baker, Lucille Stewart, Beverly Stewart, Elaine(Samuel) Alvarado and Teresa Stewart. He also leaves, three brother in laws; Willie B Stewart, Morris Stewart and Donald Graves.
Joe will be remembered for his wisdom and unwavering guidance. His legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched — as a husband, a father, a grandfather, an educator, a coach, and a friend.
A celebration of life will commence at 12:00 Noon Friday May 16, 2025 at Second Baptist Church 940 N. Franklin St., Danville. Eulogist: Pastor Christopher Cowen. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am until the time of the service. Interment: Sunset Memorial Park.
A public viewing will be held on Thursday May 14, 2025 from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Leek & Sons Funeral Home 304 E. Williams St., Danville.
