Joan Marie Adams

Joan Marie Adams was born on April 3, 1950, in Sulphur, Oklahoma, to the late Ethel and Gustoria Robertson.

She was a beautiful woman with a generous soul and a humongous heart. Joan was a loving, kind, sweet lady who loved her family dearly.  Joan was beloved by many, and she touched the lives of many more. 

Joan’s Kitchen was her love.  This is the place where she showed her kids and grandkids how to cook. At her breakfast table is where all the best memories were made.

Joan enjoyed many hobbies, such as thrift shopping, rare exotic turquoise rings, and above all else, eating shrimp and watching Sponge Bob.

She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  Her grandkids ignited her spirit, and she loved them unconditionally.   

She leaves to cherish her memory children, Dietrich Lamont Adams of Danville, IL, and Clowzell Adams, Jr. and Kinta Adams of Dallas, TX.  Her children birthed two more generations after them.  Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren enlarged her family legacy.  She also had a host of nieces and nephews.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clowzell Adams, Sr.; son, Brian Adams; and, three siblings, Sonny Robertson, Mary Gray, and Mandy Graves.

A memorial service will commence at 11:00 am Friday July 14, 2023 at Leek & Sons Funeral Home 304 E. Williams St. Danville. Eulogist will be Rev. Joseph Davis.
