Jimmie Jones

Jimmie Jones departed this life on Monday, September 6, 2021 at Carl Foundation Hospital, Urbana, Illinois.

Jimmie was born on March 9, 1942 in Forest city, Arkansas, the son of Willie and Minnie (Peacock) Jones. 

Jimmie was married to Jessie Miller and had a daughter, Faye which Jimmie Raised from age 5 years of age until her pre-teens.

He was a fantastic cook. He worked in several restaurants to horn his skills. He’ll also loved to hunt deer with a bow and arrow. Most of all, he was a sharp dresser; He always dressed to the nines.

He built his own construction business and built several buildings at the University of Illinois and other buildings in Champaign/Urbana.

Jimmie Preceded in death by his parents; Willie and Minnie Jones; his stepfather, Walter Smith; his sisters; Sarah Jones, Madeline Johnson, Laura King, Amanda Riveria, and Ethel Atkins; His brothers; Claude Jones, Clarence Foster, William Jones; his nephews; Anthony Jones, Ricky Jones, Harold Jones; his stepdaughter, Faye Miller. His great nephews LaDarryl Jones; and his niece: Shirley Ann Atkins.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories: His sisters, Willia Angel and Margaret Jones. His brother; Walter Smith and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins,and friends.

A Homecoming celebration will commence at 11:00 AM Wednesday September 15, 2021 at Morning Star Free Will Baptist Church 1402 West Eads St., Urbanna, IL 61801. A visitation will begin at 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Burial will follow after at Lincoln Cemetery.
