Jimmie T. Hill

Jimmie T. Hill passed away peacefully at the age of 77 on Monday, April 28, 2025.  He was born on June 6, 1947 in Robinsonville, Mississippi, the son of Bessie Lee Hill and Robert Lee Green.   He attended Chicago schools and graduated from Marshall High School.

Jimmie later attended and graduated from DeVry Technical Institute, in 1974.  Jimmie served diligently as an electronic technician at AT&T l, until retirement. His love for the Lord lead him to becoming a deacon in 1985 at Weeping Mary Spiritual Church in Chicago, IL under the leadership of his Aunt, Reverend Annie Pearl Bowles.  

Jimmie was then ordained as a Minister in July, 2000, at Universal Temple of Truth, Chicago. In 2019, Jimmie became the Assistant Pastor at Northside Church of Christ, Champaign, IL.  

Jimmie was an avid reader and enjoyed participating in biblical research. He experienced much joy in singing gospel songs. Jimmie loved to barbecue with his family and friends .  He also loved playing bid whist and watching the sci-fi channel.  Jimmie is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Jody Hill; 2 sons, Michael Mason (Antoanela) and Jimmie Hill, Jr, his adored 2 granddaughters, Ashley Hill and Brittany Hill, 3 great grandsons and his cousin Eddie Woodson, 2 sister-in-laws, Margaret Hill and Sonya Pickens and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins and close friends.  

Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Walter Hill and a brother, Henry Hill.  Services for Jimmie will be held at Leek & Sons Funeral Home, 1215 W. Bradley Ave, Urbana ,ILSaturday, May 3.  Visitation at 10 AM, following his funeral at 11AM.
