Jeanette Laverne Hunt

Jeanette Laverne (Tims) Hunt was born April 8, 1950, in Danville, Illinois to loving parents, Everett W. Tims and Alice (Quisenberry) Tims. 

She found the Lord at an early age and attended Antioch Baptist Church.

Jeanette attended Danville Schools and graduated from Danville High School in 1968. She furthered her education studying microbiology at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign. 

Jeanette met Thomas Hunt and fell in love. They got married in March of 1971 and later that year they welcomed a son, Thomas Jr.

She worked and retired from Covenant Hospital of Urbana as a Telemetry Technician. Her favorite hobbies were sewing, cooking and reading romance novels. She enjoyed family and especially enjoyed her grandson, Andre.

Jeanette departed this life on April 19, 2023. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Sr.; parents; sister, Madeline (Tims) Parker; Mother and Father-in-law, Billy and Mary Jo Hunt; and, Brother-in-law, Kenny Hunt. 

She leaves to cherish her memory, son, Thomas, Jr.; grandson, Andre; brothers, Frederick (Jo Ann) Tims of Kansas and Everett Tims of Champaign, IL; sister, Alicia (Tims) Johnson of Danville, IL; her in-laws; and, a host of nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Life will commence at 11:00 am Saturday April 29, 2023 at Leek & Sons Funeral Home 1215 W. Bradley Ave. Urbana. A visitation will begin at 10:00 am until the start of the service. Burial will be held at Mt Hope Cemetery.
