On Saturday October 19th, 2024, Jayla Juanita Williams gained her wings and walked into her heavenly home. Jayla was born on September 23, 2017 to Antayzia Smalls and Isaiah Williams.
Jayla had a silent language that everyone understood. She loved music and loved to dance. Everyone knows when Jayla points that finger, it’s dancing time. Jayla used music as her primary form of communication. She loved watching Moana, Princess and the Frog, PJMasks, and Bluey. She loved bubbles and she had a laugh that was soo infectious. Jaylas beautiful smile would help her get out of any jam she was in that or covering her face.
Jayla’s best friend was her Jo’Siah her brother aka Bubba. Jo'Siah helped our moo be her(also taking over his room) Jayla loved to go to school and was eager to learn. Jayla was a Daddy's girl through and through. She loved to watch sports with her dad and papa.Jayla was a Alabama fan, Roll Tide, and a Laker girl. At the hospital the staff affectionately called her Queen Side of Eye. Jayla has a host of nicknames moo moo, mooluh,jaylaj, beautiful, sometimey child(grandparent insider).
Jayla attended Mark Denman Elementary School where she was known as the princess of the class room. She was her teachers pumpkin, and was a faithful member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. Often seen running in the halls and parking lot after service.

Jayla leaves to cherish her memory with her mother Antayzia Smalls ,Brother Jo’Siah Cotton,Father Isaiah Williams. maternal grandfather Damen Rowell, maternal Great-grandmothers Anita Smalls and Bernetta King, maternal uncle Deandre (Alexis), paternal grandmother Tomasa, paternal aunts Nischelle, Niesha, and Shirley, paternal uncles James, and Kevin. Special Cousins Cyvonna Hale, Kimora Green, and Shont’a Green, and Jayla’s favorite big cousin, Karter.
Jayla was preceded in death by her grandmother Lukresia, great grandfathers Nate “BoBo” Smalls and Glen Rowell Sr, Uncles Christopher “CJ” Smalls, and Nathan Smalls.
A celebration of life will commence at 12:00 Noon Saturday November 2, 2024 at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church 311 Collett St., Danville. Eulogist: Pastor Lucius Barber. Visitation begins at 11:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow after at Spinghill Cemetery.
An open viewing will be held on Friday November 1, 2024 from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Leek & Sons Funeral Home 304 E. Williams St., Danville.
