Janice Elizabeth Butler Barber, age 60, of Danville, Illinois, peacefully departed this life on December 26, 2025, at OSF Hospital in Danville. She was born on December 13, 1965, in Cairo, Illinois.
Janice was a graduate of McKinley School in Danville and also attended Crosspoint Services. She was a devoted and faithful member of Battle Focus Ministries, where she worshiped under the leadership of Pastor Franklin Bourn. Janice had a deep love for the Lord and found great joy in attending church services.
Family was especially important to Janice. She treasured time spent with her loved ones and shared a close bond with her sister, Teresa. Known for her kind heart and gentle spirit, Janice had a beautiful soul and a remarkable ability to bring smiles to everyone she encountered.
Janice leaves to cherish her precious memory her loving brothers, Seyon Haywood and Reggie Haywood, both of Danville, Illinois; six sisters: Teresa Finch and Valerie Williams of Danville, Illinois; Sherrelle Haywood and Jessie Haywood of Arlington, Texas; Marilyn Shaw of Rantoul, Illinois; and Veronica Haywood of New York, New York; along with a host of nieces, nephews, foster sisters and brothers, extended family members, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elbert Butler, Reverend R.C. Haywood, Helen Haywood, and Robert Hope.
A Homegoing Celebration will commence at 12:00 Noon Saturday January 3, 2026 at Leek & Sons Funeral Home, 304 E. Williams. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Eulogist: Pastor Franklin Bourn.
