Janice Nadine (March) Allen, 77, answered God’s call to come home from her labor here on earth on April 12, 2025. Janice was born August 7, 1947 in Danville, IL, to Imogene (Pope) and Henry H. March, Sr. Janice attended Danville Schools, and graduated from Danville High School.
She was joined in holy matrimony on August 10, 1968, to Mac A. Allen. Janice is a member of Allen Chapel AME Church, she was one of the original members of the Worker Bees Ministry. She along with her best friend Sharon Smith and Odell Darnell kept the church decorated spiritually Beautiful. Janice served on the Culinary Ministry following in the footsteps of her mother the late Imogene “Bunny” March, Flower Guild and Bertha Searcy Women’s Missionary Society.
Janice was employed at General Electric for several years before working at Tee Pak where she retired from after 30 years of service.
Her hobbies included reading, listening to music and watching Mother Nature. Janice loved when the Cardinals came by to visit with her, she felt this represented deceased love ones coming by to check on her.
She will be missed deeply by her husband Mac ; sons, Mac A. (Shelia) Rapier of Henderson, Ky., and Esaaic Allen of Danville, IL.;
a daughter, Casanta Allen of Dallas, TX., a sister Minister Wendy (Apostle Charles) Hargrove of Danville, IL.; special niece Stormy Spalding; 13 Grandchildren, 14 Great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Imogene March, Sr., a son Berion Allen, a daughter Felisa Allen, a brother Henry “Hanky” March, Jr., and grandson whom she raised Demetrius Allen.
A celebration of life will be held Monday, April 21, 2025, at Allen Chapel AME Church, 503 Jackson St. in Danville. Visitation is from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm with the celebration of life at 12:00 noon. Officiant Apostle Charles Hargrove,and Eulogist Rev. Dr. C. Calvin Rice.
Burial will be held April 23, 2025 at the National Cemetery in Danville, IL
