James Edward Reynolds Jr. affectionately called “JR” was born January 9th 1991 to James Edward Reynolds (Moss) and the late Sara Lee (Rose) York in Urbana IL. He departed this earthly life on January 6th 2025.
JR was educated in Champaign IL. He graduated from Centennial High School in 2009. He loved his family more than anything. He enjoyed spending time with them. He loved traveling especially to Florida and Mississippi to see family.
He had a love for working on whatever he could fix and put together. He liked playing basketball and his team was Golden State Warriors. Steph Curry was his favorite player and he made sure you knew it!
JR loved music, his corvette, and he enjoyed toys like go karts, ATV’s. He loved a good BBQ or a kickback. He liked to skate and he had a love for bowling that he inherited from his father.
Jr was employed at SK Exteriors and was a member of Laborers' International Union Of North America, Local Union 703 in Urbana IL. 61802
JR leaves to cherish his memory, one son Isaiah Reynolds of St. Joseph IL, two beautiful daughters Laylah and Maliyah Reynolds and their mother Abbey Clarke of Tolono IL. His father James Reynolds (Moss) of Champaign IL. One sister Shannon Williams of Urbana IL, Five brothers Michael Williams of Peoria IL, Robert Robinson of Louisville Kentucky, Jessy Mann of Indianapolis Indiana, Troy (Tahiya) York of Mahomet IL, Damien York of Champaign IL. His God sister Tonya Jackson Caraway of Urbana IL, A special cousin Natrianna Pates of Dallas Texas. He leaves a special uncle Ronnie Jones of Champaign, IL. He leaves a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother Sara Lee (Rose) York, his paternal and maternal grandparents.
A celebration of life will commence at 12:00 Noon January 17, 2025 at Leek & Sons Funeral Home 1215 W. Bradley Ave. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am until the time of the service. Interment: Grandview Memorial Gardens.
