James Edward Driver

James E. Driver, 58 of Danville, IL transition of this life on Tuesday, January 4, 2022. He was born on June 7, 1963, in Webb, Ms. 

James was a member of the Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Courtney Watson. 

James attended Collett, Fairchild & Lincoln Elementary School. Also, James attended Northridge Jr. High School. Graduated from Danville High School in 1982. 

James played Little League Sports in his youth days. Youth Baseball for Police, Football for Lincoln Raiders and wrestlers for Northridge Jr High.

James was employed by Anchor Hocking Company,Bumper Works Inc. & Mervis Industries. 

James leaves to cherish his memory; his daughter Joy (Driver) Robinson of Chicago, IL. Grandchildren Ja’Deajah and Joseph Wilson of Chicago, IL. Aunts Mamie “Winkey” Robinson of Danville, IL and Jessie Mae Johnson of Detroit, Michigan. Also, his siblings Eddie (Rose) Driver of Decatur, IL, Edgar Driver, Josie Mae Driver, Jesse (Loretta) Driver Sr. and La’Vonnia Driver all of Danville, IL. 

James was preceded in death by his mother Josephine Driver, three brothers Mckinley, Artis and T.C. Driver. And three sisters, Nancy, Mable and Cynthia Driver. And grandfather Eddie “Pete” Davis.

A Home going Celebration will commence Saturday, January 15, 2022 12noon at Tabernacle of Praise Church 610 Robinson St. Danville.  A visitation will be from 11:00am until the time of service. A  Public Viewing will be held 1-5pm on Friday, January 14, 2022 at Leek & Sons Funeral Home 304 E. Williams St. Danville. Officiant: Pastor Courtney Watson.  Internment: Spring Hill Cemetery.  Leek & Sons Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
