James Lee Dickens, 61, of Moorhead, Mississippi (Sunflower County) transitioned at Barnes Jewish Hospital, Saint Louis, MO at 8:58 A.M. on March 25th 2021.
James was born on July 19, 1959 to Lonnie B. Dickens and MurrayLeah Dickens.
James attended Manassas High School in Memphis, Tennessee. James and Beverly Lynn Herrington were married on September 29, 2000 in Urbana, Illinois.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Herrington, his sons: Cedrick Dickens, Christopher L Chaney Sr (LaWanda), his daughters: Jamie Chavis, Denise Chaney: his mother, MurrayLeah Dickens, brothers and their spouses, Ricky Dickens (Shirley), Jimmy Dickens (Mattie), Tolton Dickens, Lonnie Dickens Jr (Pam), his uncle: Charlie Dickens (Annie Dickens), 12 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lonnie Dickens Sr, his sister, Debbie Dickens, and his brother Gary Dickens.
He re-dedicated his life to Christ in 2018, and was baptized in Jesus Name at Word for Life Apostolic Church.
A Homegoing Celebration will commence at 11:00 am on Friday April 4, 2021 at New Life Church of Faith, 1409 W. Dublin St., Urbana. Officiating Pastor Christopher Chaney. A visitation will begin at 10:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow after at Lincoln Memorial Gardens
