Gregory Edward Grant, 65, of Danville, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, just one day shy of his 66th birthday.
Born on July 30, 1959, Gregory brought joy, laughter, and light-heartedness wherever he went. Known for his ease with people and the way his presence could brighten a room, Gregory had a gift for making others feel seen and at ease. He loved being surrounded by family and friends, often right at the heart of the gathering—sharing stories, laughs, and genuine connection.
Gregory was a devoted son, a loving and present father, a caring brother, and a loyal friend. He embodied his name—generous in spirit and deeply committed to those he loved. He cherished time with the people closest to him, and his warmth and presence will be profoundly missed.
He is survived by his life partner, Nazera Miller; his children, Pat Calloway (Shannon) and Eric Grant; and his siblings: Michael E. Grant, Ronald Grant (Deborah), Gary Grant, Patricia Grant-Keglar (William), Chris Grant (Suzanne), Curtis Grant, Thomas Brewer, Ann Grant-Parker (Jerry), Glenda Grant. Gregory also leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward “Bud” Grant and Gladys Morefield-Grant, and siblings Carl Brewer, Jeffery Grant, and Michael Grant.
A visitation will be held at 11:00 AM, followed by afuneral service at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at Community Church, 535 S. Bowman Ave, Danville, Illinois, 61832. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery, with a gathering afterward at Community Church to share memories and celebrate Gregory’s life.
