Georgia Jimson - Seward Obituary

I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.

 

My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.  Psalms 121: 1-2

 

Georgia transitioned this life to her heavenly home Thursday February 27, 2020

 

Georgia was born May 28,1951 in Sledge, MS. to George and Ora D. ( McNeal ) Jimson Jr. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of New Life Church Of Faith. She served faithfully on the hospitality committee. She graduated from Danville High School in 1969.

 

She attended Business College in Chicago, IL. Georgia married Michael Seward on June 28, 1996. She was employed by Ameren Illinois 

for 37 and a half years from where she retired. Georgia was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. She was one of the best female bowlers in the Danville area. She finished in the top five of the Pepsi Bowling Championship. Georgia loved to cruise the seas. One of her most memorable cruises was to Hawaii. She loved her family and she had a special place in her heart for her nieces and nephews. Some of whom she introduced to bowling.

 

Georgia leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Michael, her mother, Mrs. Ora D. Jimson, one sister, Tanisha Allen, three brothers, Martin D. Jimson, George ( Marilyn ) Jimson III, and  Michael ( Erdell ) Jimson all of Danville  Two Step Daughters, Michelle Webb of Indianapolis, In. Erica Fleetwood of Clinton In. and five step grand children. Two God sons Terrence Cloyd and Cedric Jones Smith. Best Friends Pearl Smith and Theresa Cloyd. Special Friend Marcia Keys and a host of nieces and nephews.

 

Georgia was preceded in death by her father George Jimson Jr, her grandfather George Jimson Sr, and her sister-in law Pamela J. Jimson.

 

A Homegoing Celebration will commence at 12:00 Noon on March 6, 2020 at New Life Church of Faith, 1419 N Bowman Ave. Danville. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am until the time of the service.  Officiating Pastor Thomas W. Miller. Interment will follow after services at Springhill Cemetery. A public Viewing will be held on Thursday March 5, 2020 at 1:00 pm til 5:00 pm at Leek & Sons Funeral Home 304 E. Williams St. Danville. Leek & Sons in charge of arrangements.
