Garrell D. Hall

Garrell D. Hall, affectionately known as “Jessie,” was born on November 26, 1981, to Lizzy Hall and Ronnie Terrell in Chicago, Illinois. On September 28, 2025, at 5:00 p.m., Garrell was called home to eternal rest. He was preceded in death by his beloved nephew, grandmother, and grandfather.

Garrell attended Van Vlissingen Elementary School and George H. Corliss High School in Chicago, Illinois. From an early age, he discovered a love for working with his hands—especially on cars and music systems. Whether it was radios, speaker boxes, or anything electronic, Garrell had a natural gift for making things work. He also enjoyed doing yard work and took pride in keeping his surroundings beautiful. There was little he couldn’t do, and he was never afraid to try it all.

In 2001, Garrell brought his talents and big heart to Danville, Illinois, where he built a life centered around his passions—cars, music, and helping keep his neighborhood looking its best.

Garrell “Jessie” Hall had a heart of gold—one that he freely shared with everyone he met. Though his golden heart now rests, the warmth of his love continues to shine through the precious memories he leaves behind.

He will forever be remembered by his loving and devoted children, Jamonie D. Hall and Janae A. Hall; his mother Lizzy Hall; father Ronnie Terrell; sister Marie Hall; nephews Jerrell D. Hall and Ke’Marlon M. Landfair; niece Ashanti S. Hall; and great-nephew Ja’Kari A. Smith.

Garrell also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will cherish his memory and the love he shared with them all.

A celebration of life will commence at 12:00 Noon Saturday October 11, 2025 at Leek & Sons Funeral Home, 304 E. Williams St. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
