Floyd Kyle, Jr., the son of the late Floyd Kyle, Sr., and the late Pearl Lee Brazil-Griffin, was born January 4, 1954, in Urbana, IL at Mercy Hospital (now known as OSF).
Floyd attended Urbana District #116 schools in Urbana, IL and graduated from Urbana High School. In 1972, Floyd joined the Air Force. He was honorably discharged in 1975.
Floyd was a self-employed mechanic. He loved working on cars.
Floyd loved doing yard work and enjoyed any kind of family time. He loved his children dearly.
Floyd was a member of St. Luke CME Church in Champaign, IL.
Floyd Kyle, Jr., 66, entered into eternal rest Sunday, September 13, 2020, in Champaign, IL. He leaves to cherish his memories, the mother of his children, Diane Smith; three sons: Devon Maurice Kyle of Tennessee, Darmel LaTroy Smith of Illinois, and Jerrod VanTwan Smith of Oregon; one daughter, Shamira Renay Smith of Illinois; four brothers: Roy Calvin (Carol) Griffin, Nathan Maurice (Rose) Griffin, Henry Carl (Mary Ann) Griffin, and Gregory Alan (Grace) Griffin; one sister, Genora Laverene Griffin; seven grandchildren; seven nieces and nephews; and host of other relatives and friends.
Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, his stepfather, Von Preston Miller Griffin, and a sister, Deana Marie Griffin-Pettigrew.
A public viewing will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday September 18, 2020 at Leek & Sons Funeral Home, 1215 W. Bradley Ave. Urbana.
