Florence G. Ransom

Florence G. Ransom of Champaign IL went to glory on Jan. 5, 2023. Florence was born on August 20, 1929, in Springfield, IL to Mabel McDaniels Jones and Lawrence Jones (both deceased). She was a doting wife to James Ransom Jr. (deceased) and the proud mother of Rev. Linda Siddall (deceased), Shahidah Sanchez (El Cajon, CA) and James T. Ransom (Springfield, IL). Florence was a long-standing member of Bethel AME church for 67 years. She was an avid supporter of the Don Moyers Boys and Girls Club, First string and the youth at her church. She was a volunteer with Carle Hospital Auxiliary.

A memorial service will be held at Bethel AME Church on January 28, 2023 at 12 noon, with a pre-memorial gathering from 11 a.m. to the start of the service. In lieu of flowers, Florence asks that you donate to any of the following organizations that were near and dear to her: The Don Moyers Boys and Girls Club, First String, or Bethel AME Church.
