Edward B. Wilson

Edward Bernard Wilson, 45 of Danville, Illinois, transitioned from life to eternity alongside his brother, Martez LaPrie Wilson, December 17, 2020.

Edward was born on November 28, 1975 in Danville, Illinois, the son of Drucilla Hayes and Edward Isaac.

Edward leaves to cherish his memory: his children; Shamar Wilson, Madison Wilson, Kamia Wilson and A.J. Wilson, mother Drucilla Hayes, stepfather Larry Hayes, father Edward Isaac: brothers; DelShunta (Lavon Sanders) Hayes and Dane Lamar Hayes; paternal grandmother, Alberta Isaac. Four aunts; Glenda Withers, Tywon (David) Gouard, Tissia (Charles) Henderson, and Rachel (Carlos) Cunningham; three uncles; Robert Wilson, Prentice (Cortina) Wilson, and Timmie (Martha) Sanford; and many family and friends. He was proceeded by his maternal grandparents, Ruth and Jimmie Sanford: three aunts, Brenda Morris, Shirley Wilson and Sylvia Wilson. A special daughter, LaQuanta Dixon

There are so many ways to describe Edward. In many ways he was a true oxymoron. I say this because he was serious BUT funny at the same time. Edward was a hard worker and loved children and family. He was fun to be around, and often the life of the party. Oh yes, he loved to cook and if you ever had the opportunity to enjoy one of his dishes, he would let you know “my dishes do not require ANY additional seasoning.

One of his favorite scriptures was Proverbs 22:6… “Train up a child in the way he should so; and when he is old, he will not depart from it”.

Sleep well son; we will see you in the morning.

A private family Homegoing Celebration will commence at 12:00 Noon on Monday December 28, 2020 at Leek & Sons Funeral Home, 304 E. Williams St. Officiating Bishop Barry Elliott. A visitation will begin at 11:00 until the time of  the service. A public visitation will be held on Sunday December 27, 2020 from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Leek & Sons Funeral Home. Burial will follow after at Spring Hill Cemetery.

Due to CDC regulations, Attendance restrictions will be enforced.
