Edward “Eddie” P. Miller

Edward “Eddie” P. Miller gained his wings on Monday, October 11th, 2021 at Carle Hospital.

Eddie was a loving, yet straightforward husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was born to Anniebell Pettigrew on January 28th, 1949 in Combord, Arkansas. After completing high school, Eddie served in the U.S. Army and National guard for many years and received many awards during his service years. Upon finishing his military career, he worked as a heavy machine operator for Champaign Asphalt. 

On October 1, 1991, Eddie married Dorothy Rogers, of Champaign, IL after dating for many years. Their marriage lasted 30 years, until his death in 2021. 

He loved spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids and being around his family and friends as well. His hobbies included anything church related, playing solitaire, fishing and fixing cars. He had such a loving heart and would never charge the full amount for the services he provided. 

He was an active member of Northside Church of Christ of Champaign, serving as deacon for many years.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Anniebell Pettiegrew; sister Mary Cleveland; son Melvin Rogers; grandson Rayshawn Brown.

He leaves to Cherish his wife Dorothy Miller. His siblings;Tim P, Lucille R, Andrew P, Nancy P, Idella H, John P, L.C, Harold, Gladys, and Gloria. His children; Edward “EJ” and Roger B. His grandchildren; Rashwanda B, Rashaya B, Rashaud B, Rhakiyah K, Anthony W, Raniyah B, Tyshawn R, Tukeria B, Roger B, Tiana H, Delisha C-P, Ozel V, Alisia C. Great-Grandchildren; Rah’Mir B, Armanee H, Taveria L, Tay’vionn L, Kobey B, Ry’yale B, Richard M, Donte S, Honcho E.

A Homegoing Celebration will commence at 12:00 Noon on October 20, 2021 at Northside Church of Christ, 1700 W. Anthony Dr., Champaign. Eulogist: Pastor Arthur Moore. A visitation will begin at 11:00 am until the time of the service.

Maska will be required.
