Edward Means Jr.,born on December 12, 1946, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2024, at the age of 77. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Edward’s life was marked by his unwavering dedication to family, service, and love.
Edward honorably served his country as a Vietnam Veteran in the United States Army. His courage and dedication during his military service were a true reflection of the character he embodied throughout his life. This experience was a source of immense pride for him and deeply influenced the values he held dear.
He was the father of two sons, Tony (Derek) and Theo (Edward III), from his first wife, Deborah. In 1998, Edward married Madelyn, and together they shared a special bond with her granddaughter, Shavon, whom they lovingly raised.
Edward is survived by his sons Tony and Theo, and his cherished grandchildren, Shavon, Monique, Jasmine, and Braydon. His memory will also be held dear by a large circle of extended family and friends.
Edward’s life was one of quiet strength and steadfast love. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy of kindness and dedication will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
A celebration of life will commence at 12:00 noon Saturday August 24, 2024 at Leek & Sons Funeral Home 304 E.Williams St. Danville IL. Eulogist: Pastor Thomas Miller. Visitation . will begin at 11:00 am until the start of the service. Interment: Springhill Cemetery.
