Edward Jones Jr.

Edward "Opie" Jones JR, departed this life at 4:25pm September 19, 2020 in Peoria IL. Edward was born on December 22, 1954 in West Memphis, Arkansas to Edward Sr., and Eva Brent Jones.  His family relocate to Urbana, Illinois in the 1960's. Ed attended Urbana Schools and went to Parkland College.  Ed left Illinois in 1974 and lived in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for over 25 years.  Ed returned to Illinois after his father passed to care for his loving mother.  Ed enjoyed spending time with family and friends, sports and gardening.  Ed was a banker and mechanic.  He retired from Kraft after many years of faithful service.  

He leaves to cherish his loving memory his mother, Eva Merriweather, his siblings: Dale Jones, Martha Jones, Diana (Dennis) Hendricks, Carl Jones and Terri Chipman.  

As Ed rest in peace his spirit will live and dwell in all of us.  We will forever miss his laughs and smile.  May God hold and keep him. 
 

A Home Going Celebration will commence at 12:00 Noon on September 26, 2020 at Leek & Sons Funeral Home, 1215 W. Bradley, Urbana. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am until the time of the service.

Due to CDC regulations, restrictions will be enforced.
