Durelle Louis Williams Sr. peacefully transitioned into eternal rest on January 22, 2026 at 5:45am at Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital in Royal Oak, MI.
Durelle Louis Williams Sr. was born on February 13, 1951 in Danville, IL to Claxton Harmon Williams Sr. and Fostina (Philpott) Williams. He spent his childhood days growing up in his hometown of Danville, Illinois where he attended Washington Elementary and Danville High School.
In January of 1968, Durelle and Janet Lee Thomas had their only daughter, Kimberly Sharmaine Abram (Thomas). Years later, he relocated to Detroit, Michigan to be with his sister Linda Joy Williams.
In 1982, Durelle married Jennifer Tutt, and from this union two sons were born, Durelle Louis Jr. and Daniel Joseph Williams.
Durelle was preceded in death by his parents, older brother Claxton “Harmon” Williams Jr., grandson Ahmad Jamal Abram, nephews De'Andre, Damon 'Adam', Derrick Williams, and niece Irene Williams.
Left to cherish his memory, is his daughter Kimberly (Franklin) Abram of Maryland, two sons, Durelle L. Williams Jr. and Daniel Williams both of Michigan, his only sister Linda Joy Williams of Michigan, 5 grand children, Michael (Krystal) Richardson, Marquetta (Aaron) Benn, Darielle Williams, Durelle Williams III, and Darnell Williams, six great grand children and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A memorial service will held at 10:00am Saturday February 7, 2026 at Greater Life Apostolic Church, 5296 Tireman Ave, Detroit, MI 48204
