Douglas March Obituary

Mr. Douglas Cornelius March, (Doug or Dougie) as he was fondly called, of Lawton, Oklahoma, formally of Danville, IL  went home to be with the Lord on October 1, 2020 at Comanche Memorial Hospital in Lawton, Oklahoma.

Well done, good and faithful servant! Matthew 25:21
I fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord the righteous judge, shall give me at that day and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. 2 Timothy 4:7-8

Douglas was born on February 9, 1954 to Warvick H. and Genevieve M. (Moore) March in Danville, IL. Douglas was formerly married to Betty Jackson of Bloomington, IL.
He attended Danville schools and worked as an assembly commercial line warehouse worker for various companies. Douglas never met a stranger. He loved the outdoors and helping others, especially the elderly. His gifts were working on cars, houses and fixing things. He was a great debater and loved playing domino's with friends and family. In his youth he received the nickname Hogan/ Hogan's Hero for his exceptional sports abilities.

Douglas leaves to cherish his three children, two sons Jason Prowell of San Diego, CA and Priest Lamont Wilson of Danville, IL; one daughter Mrs. Ronasha Jones of Memphis, TN, ten grandchildren, three great grandchildren. His four sisters,  Carolyn March, Marta March, Lillian (Michelle) Lillard, and Nancy (Lamar) Coleman all of Danville, IL. four brothers Milton Dean March and Jeffrey (Jai) March of Danville, IL, Minister Phillip (Tina) March of Champaign, IL, Randall March of Atlanta, GA. and a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends.

Douglas was preceded in death by an infant son and a daughter Quintoria Taylor, his parents Warvick and Genevieve March, one sister Mrs. Cheryl Williams,  three brothers Frederick March, Kenneth March and Michael March.
We loved you but God loved you best.

The March family would like to sincerely thank everyone who was there for Douglas during his battle with cancer. We greatly appreciate you all.

The Lord is my shepherd I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley in the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff, they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou anointest my head with oil. My cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
Amen
