Dorothy Beasley Obituary

Dorothy Beasley 76, of Danville Illinois, passed this life on April 1, 2023 at her home. Dororthy Boyd Beasley was born in Birmingham, Alabama on February 21, 1947 to Margaret Ingram
Boyd Smith and Ocie Boyd. She was married to Lawrence Joe Beasley for 38 years, which he passed this life in 2013.

Dorothy was a dedicated and true Jehovah Witness for over 30 years. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren dearly. Her life was dedicated to helping everyone who asked or
didn’t ask for assistance. She worked over 40 years as a Certified Nursing Assistance for nursing homes and retired from the Veteran Administration Hospital five years ago. Even after retirement she could not stop taking care of people, so she started working as a Personal Care Provider, even working as a Bus Monitor for Danville School Bus System. Her heart was opened to anyone who was in need of care, food or conversation. She fought a good fight, she kept the faith and I know Jehovah God was pleased with her.

Dorothy leaves behind her loving children, Deshon Oliver of Maryland and her son Pacasso Beasley of Danville, Illinois. Her elder son, Steven M. Johnson preceded her in death in 2020. She also leaves behind 7 siblings, Dorsey(Patricia) Boyd of Danville, Clara Boyd of Champaign, Margaret Boyd of Danville, Evelyn (Oliver) Burford of Danville, Larry (Patricia) Boyd of Urbana, Barbara Evans of
Danville and Brenda Evans of Danville. She recently lost her sister Susan Parker on February 2023.

Her precious two Aunts, April( John) King and Eleanora ( Willie) Howard. The love of her life were her grandchildren; Melina Johnson, Ebony Johnson, Michael Johnson,
Malcom Johnson, Darrion Oliver, TaVon Beasley, Breshawna Beasley, Parashae Beasley, Danisha Beasley Nehemiah Beasley, and twins Pacasso Beasley Jr. and Pocosso Beasley. Pocosso preceded her in death. Her love for these grandchildren will be with them forever.

She leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, great-grandchildren, and friends. Dorothy was preceded in death by her mother, father, nephews, and 4 brothers, Ocie Boyd Jr., Smith Evans Jr, Edward Smith, baby Smith and 2 sisters, Susan Parker and Cheryl Smith.

Dorothy was her siblings backbone and her presence will be missed until we see her again. We all love you and loved you wholeheartedly.
