Diane Nesbitt

Diane Nesbitt was born April 3, 1954, in Urbana, IL., to the late Herbert E. Nesbitt and Dorothy J. Nesbitt. They preceded her in death. 

Diane Nesbitt heard the voice of the Lord and departed this life at 7:38 a.m. Thursday, May 1st, 2025, at  Paxton Senior Living.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory her two daughters, L. Shamika Nesbitt of Urbana and Shalena Thomas (Robert) of Oak Park, IL;  two brothers, Kevin Nesbitt (Petina) of Wildwood, MO., and Herbert P. Nesbitt of Champaign; two grandsons, Kwame N. Thomas and Harlem S. Thomas.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Michael J. Nesbitt, and her sister, Gail R. Nesbitt.

Diane was a natural caregiver and champion of others. She was a dedicated social worker for over 40 years and retired from the Regional Planning Commission in 2019.

Memorial services will commence at noon. Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Leek & Son's Funeral Home, 1215 W. Bradley Ave. Urbana, IL. Family hour will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday
