The mortal life of our beloved Diane McFarland, began on September 07, 1960 in Jackson Mississippi, born to the Union of Columbus and Surlisha McFarland. She accepted Christ at an early age at the St. Paul Baptist Church in Edwards, Mississippi. She graduated from Utica Agricultural High School.
In 1985, she relocated to Champaign, Illinois. She later became a member of Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church. She was a very intelligent, hard working, and fun loving person. Everyone loved to be around her. She enjoyed playing basketball, volleyball, bingo, and being with family and friends. She was employed at Flex ‘N” Gate West for 10 years.
Quite often death sends no summons before him, but floats unseen on a breeze. He comes on joshed footsteps to all. He came to our beloved on Wednesday, March 09, 2022 at her home at 8:50AM. Her transition was peaceful and now she is at rest. She leaves cherishing her with loving memories her daughter Toronda LaTrice McFarland and a son TyDarlro Demond Butler-Coleman. Sisters: Lucille McFarland (Alonzo), (Edwards, Mississippi), Johnnie Mae Harvey (Percy), Earnetine McFarland (Michael), and Alma Jean McFarland (Rolando) of Champaign, Illinois,) Brothers: William McFarland of Atlanta Georgia, Joseph Horton, of Edwards, Mississippi. Robert Earl Horton (Ann), and Charles Walker Jr. (Susan) of Jackson, Mississippi.Leroy McFarland (Gwendolyn) of Edwards, Mississippi, and Leonard James McFarland (Angela McFarland) of Champaign, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her parents Surlisha Mae and Columbus McFarland. 5 brothers AC McFarland (Earlene), Alonzo McFarland Sr. (Lucille), Columbus McFarland Sr; David McFarland, Carl McFarland (Gail), Eugene McFarland (Susie), 6 Sisters: Lousie Thompson, Mary Johnson, Louise McFarland Laura Kidd, Bertha Lee Smith (James), Clementine Smith (Benard Smith), and Mildred Ann Richardson.
11 Grandchildren: Tyrin McFarland (Kamilah Jones) of Maryland, Calogeno Dawson, Daijohna Billings, LaDarraugh Billings, Zy’ann Thomas, and Zyair Thomas all of Urbana, Illinois. Tyionna McFarland; TyDarlro Butler-Coleman Jr.; Ty Neece McFarland; Tysin Butler-Coleman; Sa Kiyah Webb; and Na’ Kiyah Webb all from Champaign, Illinois. 2 Great- grandchildren: Giannis and Thanasis McFarland, and a host of nieces and nephews.
A Homegoing Celebration will commence at 12:00 Noon on Friday 18, 2022 at Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church 1310 N. Sixth St., Champaign. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Lincoln Cemetery.
