Dean Edward Mapp, 71, of Danville, IL, was called home to be with our Lord on November 21, 2023. He was born on August 18, 1952 to Pete and Natalie Phillpott Mapp in Danville, IL.
Dean attended the Danville Schools. He worked at the 300 Room Bowling Alley, George’s Buffet and a few other places. He enlisted in the U.S. Army. Dean loved the Lord.
His hobbies were reading, lifting weights and most of all, he loved to walk.
He leaves to cherish his memory brother, Mark (Eva) Phillpott of Rantoul, IL; aunt, Patricia Phillpott; six nieces, Tiffany and Byrony Mapp of Milwaukee, WI, Dacia Foreman of Danville, IL, and Lasonya Laster, Sheri Phillpott and Kristina Phillpott all of Georgia; Tammy Longino of Decatur, IL; and, a host of relatives and friends.
Dean was proceeded in death by his parents; and, three sisters, Gail, Helen and Stephanie.
A special thanks to his aunt, Patricia Phillpott who cared for him and his affairs.
A homegoing celebration will commence at 12:00 noon Monday December 4, 2023 at New Life Church of Faith 1419 N. Bowman Ave., Urbana. Pastor Thomas Miller will officiate. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
