Dawn Renè Marks

Dawn Rene Marks, 62, of Fairmount, IL passed away March 18, 2025 at 1:18AM, at Lincoln Village Health Care Center in Lincoln IL.

Dawn was born in Okinawa, Japan on May 25, 1962 to Norma (Shaw) Parsons and the late Donn Parsons. She married the late Jackie Marks on March 5, 2006.

Dawn is survived by her 6 children: Nathaniel (Heather) Estes, Elijah Estes, Mariah Estes, Alexandria Estes, Daniel Marks, and Jillian Marks. She gained Jennifer Marks-Tucker and Jason Marks as bonus children when she married Jack. She is also survived by her siblings, Steel (Diane) Parsons, Stacey (Bill) Bowen and Drema Parsons as well as her 11 grandchildren: Robert Estes, Jarett Tucker, Hunter Estes, Justin Tucker, Jayke Pilkington, Wyatt Estes, Jacoby Marks, Elliot Marks, Katilynn Estes, Lillyan Estes, Rowyn Estes. 

Additionally, she is survived by her long time best friend Sara Rybarczyk.

Dawn worked in the healthcare field for over 30 years, including as a phlebotomist at the University of Illinois College Clinic and then at Christi Clinic where she ran the sterilization department. She retired in 2023. 

Dawn loved reading, crocheting, and gardening. She was a very kind and loving person who got along with everyone she met, and she had a wonderful sense of humor. She was a very giving person who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

A celebration of life and a graveside service at Maplewood Cemetery in Rantoul, IL will be held at a future date, In case lieu of flowers, she requested that memorial donations be made to the Veteran’s Nursing Home in Danville, IL.
