Dana Carrigan passed away peacefully at her home on October 26th, 2024 at the age of 80. She was born August 31, 1944 to Oscar and Goldie Dornblazer in Urbana, Illinois.
Dana was born in Urbana, Illinois and raised in Hume, Illinois. She attended Illinois Commercial College in Champaign, Illinois. She worked as an Avon sales representative for many years and loved to volunteer at the Georgetown Fair every summer.
Dana was married to Don Carrigan who proceeded her in death. Dana's memory will be treasured by her son Shannon (Krissy) Carrigan, grandchildren Megan (Mark) Syrek, Leila, Maya, Aiden, Grayson, Adeline, and Kinsley, sisters Nedra Rooney, Cara (Rudy) Weigel, Pauline (Michael) Coon and Connie (Jim) Craven, nieces Kathleen (Cory) Jakobsen, Kris (Kevin) Brock, and Lori (Matthew) Baber, and nephew Brent (Jill) Rooney.
Dana was a kind and caring women, who treated everyone like family. She loved to bake, do crafts, sew and play Bingo at the library. Dana loved bowling and used to bowl on a women's league in Ridgefarm. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her the most, offering support, wisdom, and love in abundance. She a wonderful grandmother, she treasured her grandchildren and embraced every moment with them. A friend to many, she was cherished member of the community of Danville, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and strength.
A celebration of life will commence at 12:00 Noon Monday November 4, 2024 at New Life Church of Faith 1419 N. Bowman Ave. Eulogist: Pastor Thomas W. Miller. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will be held at on Monday at Young America Cemetery in Hume, Illinois.
