Daisy Piggies 93 of Alsip, IL, transitioned from this life at 7:23 pm March 6 at Christ Advocate hospital in Oak Lawn Il. Daisy was born on July 13, 1929 in Leland Miss. She was the first of 6 children born to Pink and Minnie (Clemmons) Hill. The family moved to Danville Ill. where she attended school.
She moved to Chicago Il. at a young age where she would live the rest of her life. On June 27, 1954, she married James Piggies in Robbins Il., officiated by Elder Freeman Guy Green. James preceded her in death.
Daisy attended Faith Temple COGIC in Chicago Il. Daisy worked for Advance Transformers in Rosemont Il. as a supervisor where she retired after 30 years of service.Born with a "gift of gab", Daisy would talk to anyone. To know her is to love her! Known as "The Mayor" of Heritage apartments in Alsip, she could come across as tough at times, but beneath the tough exterior was a heart of gold. She was always willing to help.
Her hobbies included traveling, meeting new people, and watching her beloved Chicago Bulls. She was preceded in death by sisters Rose (John) Gordon, Faye(S. Bordon), and brother , Leroy (Barbara) Hill.She is survived by sister Pinkye (Cliffton Sardgon) and brother, Edgar (Gloria) Hill, and a host of family and friends that she loved dearly. Stanley (Mary) Hill, Taina Gordon ,Mark (Doretha), Paula, Gordon, Twan (Lakeitha), Lance (Cindy), Ernestine and Ratasha Adams, Robert and "Nita" Reed, Terrance Reed, Tammy Wilson, and Special friends Angela Benson of Alsip Il. and Juanita Douglass of Chicago Il. and her church family.
A homegoing celebration will commence at 12:00 noon Wednesday March 15, 2023 at St. Synagogue C.O.G.I.C., 2605 E. Main, Danville. Elder Tommie Reed will officiate. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Sanhill Memorial Park.
