D.W. Hall was born on December 18, 1938, in Meadville, Mississippi, to Lizzy Adams and George Hall. He and his wife, Alice Hall, relocated their family to Danville, Illinois, where he lived for over 50 years.
D.W Hall was a proud husband, father, grandfather, cousin, and friend. He shared a loving and enduring marriage with his wife, and together they built a family grounded in love, resilience, and togetherness. He was known for his steady presence in the community and his strong work ethic, often seen driving around town in his truck. He was a retired operating engineer from IUOE Local 841 and a member of the Tabernacle of Praise. He spent several years coaching youth baseball and offering handyman help to neighbors and those in need. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends and will be remembered for the moments and memories shared with those he loved most.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Alice Hall; his parents, Lizzy Adams and George Hall; his sisters Jessie M. Roberson, Bessie M. Davis, Jewel Frith, Rosie M. Nelson, Mary Hall; His brothers KC Hall, Dan Hall, Jim Hall, George Hall, Willie B. Hall; and his children, Prescott (Rickey), Cyrus, and Dwanda (Kay).
He is survived by his brother, George (BillBo) Hall; his children: Shelia Burton, Dorothy Cloyd, Donald Hall, George Hall, Grace Hall, and Angela Renae Weaver. Grandchildren: Renetta Gouard, Antonio Gouard, Rickey Gouard, Liza West, Kevin Burton, Tyler Brandon, Tabitha Burton Lewis, Regina Cloyd, Reginald (Dr. Maya) Cloyd esq., Aniya Parker, Roy Jones, Angel Hall, Stephanie Hall, Eychana Hall, K’shana Hall, Jayce Pickens, George Hall, Georgio Hall, Cyrus Hall, Jasmine Hall, Krystal Coe, Sheila Brianna Hall, Treyvaughn Weaver, Shaybriell Weaver. A host of close family members, including Terry, Tonya, Shirley (Berry), Michael, Barbara,Reginald Sr. and other family and friends, who will deeply miss him.
We will remember him in the stories told, the laughter shared, the drinks poured, and the strength he showed throughout his life. His legacy continues through the family and community that meant so much to him.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Friday February 27, 2026 at Leek & Sons Funeral Home, 304 E. Williams St., Danville. Graveside services will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery. Leek & Sons Funeral Home, 304 E. Williams St., Danville.
