Cynthia Bankhead

Cynthia Evonne Bankhead transitioned from this life to eternity on February 27, 2020 at Champaign Rehabilitation Center in Champaign, IL. She fought hard and loss her battle to Liver Cancer.

Cynthia was born in Danville, Illinois on February 11, 1957 to John and Wanda (Haskins) Bankhead.  She accepted Jesus at a young age at Collett Street Church of Christ.  She was proceeded in death by her mother Wanda J. Nelson and father John Bankhead and step-father L.C. Nelson.  She leave to cherish her sisters and brothers, Kim (Gregory) Montgomery of Indianapolis, IN., Tori (Jessie) Jenkins of Brownsburg, IN., Mark Coe of Champaign, IL., Ricky Bankhead of Danville, IL., and Aishah (Cliff) Allen of Indianapolis, IN., Marva Butler of Danville, IL., Vicky Smalls of Danville, IL., Debbie Grant of Danville, IL., Brian Coe of Tennessee, Kevin Coe of Danville IL., She also leaves to cherish her nieces and nephew Tenisha L. Hill, Sa'mara (Bankhead) Taylor, and Dwight Lucas Jr., Deniesha Bankhead, I-eshia Bankhead, Queshia Bankhead, Kiesha Bankhead, Steve Fisher Jr., Asa Fisher her great nephew and nieces, Blake C. Dickinson, Trinidy L. Bankhead, Brittany L. Bankhead, and a host of extended family, friends, and Love ones.


Cynthia ended her 30 career of a Forklift operator at Plasti Pak Packaging Inc. She was better known as (Cindy) the forklift driver.

Cynthia lived and enjoyed life; especially spending time with her family and friends.  She also, enjoyed dancing, playing Keno, scrabble, walking and, watching her western TV shows.

Cynthia was preceded in death by both parents and her stepfather.

A Celebration of Life will commence on Saturday March 7, 2020 at Leek & Sons Funeral Home 1215 W. Bradley Ave., Urbana.
