Curtia L. Summers, 49, of Champaign, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2023. She was born on August 7, 1973. Curtia attended Danville High School in Danville, IL. Her greatest joy was spending time with her mother, children, grandchildren, family, and friends.
Growing up, Curtia was the life of the party. Having fun and partying were always a big part of her life. You will always know if Curtia is in the house. She always had a joyful spirit but was quick to tell you off when necessary. Playing games, dancing, and watching crime shows on TV were among her favorite things. She had an amazing sense of humor that made everyone laugh. She was very blunt and will tell you like it is.
She loved watching Pastor Peter Popoff and Pastor Joel Osteen, her favorite Christian evangelists. She wanted to discuss topics they preached in depth so she would fully understand them. There was nothing quite like having her around. She was truly a joy to be around and will most certainly be missed. There will never be another Curtia.
Curtia was survived by her parents, mom Rosemary Summers (Gary Patton) and father Jimmy Lee Williams, Danville, IL, a beloved life partner Kevin Brown, Champaign, IL; Brother Victor Newsome, Indianapolis, IN; Jimmy Lee Williams Jr., Houston, TX; Sister Dezima Daniels, Champaign, IL; Brother Vincent Williams, Memphis, TN; Sister Anyya (Abdulahi) Summers-Olajire, Rosenberg, TX; Brother Lourengo (Ardis-Denise) Summers, Atlanta, GA; LaShauna Summers, Indianapolis, IN; Brother Kareen Summers, Danville, IL; Sister Tamara Summers, Danville, IL; Curtia has 3 children, Son Diehentae Summers, Danville, IL; Son Daejzon Summers, Champaign, IL, Son Damajzae Summers, Champaign, IL. She has 8 grandchildren Damauri Summers, Daejzon Summers Jr, Diehentae Summers II, Dakobe Summers, DeVeajzah Summers, Dakoda Summers, Dakorion Summers and Da’Kareon Summers. Curtia leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and great friends.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Curtis and Olivia Summers; her paternal grandparents Herman and Winnie Dell Strong; and one grandchild Davonte L. Summers.
