Cortez Ramell Strong

Cortez Ramell Strong, 26, of Danville, IL went home on Sunday, June 19, 2022 at Carle Hospital. Cortez was born on April 13, 1996 to parents, Marilyn Shaw and Herman Strong, Sr.

He attended Danville High School and Champaign Centennial High School. Cortez enjoyed his family and friends. He enjoyed all sports especially football. Cortez also loved to rap to music and gaming; he was very good at both of them. Cortez was know for his smile with the big dimples. He was working at Flex-N-Gate in Danville, IL.

Cortez leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Marilyn Shaw (Phillip Smith) of Champaign, IL; stepfather, Patrick Shaw; brother, Herman Strong, Jr. of Texas; sisters, Aliayah Shaw of Georgia, Brindisi Strong of Danville, IL; stepsisters, Mikayla Williams of Danville, IL and Quanesha Doyle of Georgia; stepbrother, Quemarii Williams of New York; Best friend, Devin Villarreal of Danville, IL; aunts, Teresa Finch, Valorie Williams, Alberta Atwood, Erinstine McClendon and Bernise Golatte all of Danville, IL; favorite Uncle Bobby Strong and Jimmy Williams; special friend, Darla Blakely; special lady he called “Mamaw”, Mamie Robinson (Winkie); and, a host of cousins and friends.

Cortez was proceeded in death by his father, Herman Strong, Sr.; maternal grandmother, Alice Tate; paternal grandmother, Winniedale Strong; maternal grandfather, Robert Percy Brown; paternal grandfather, Herman Strong; and, Aunt, Ida Strong.

A Celebration of Life will commence at 12:00 Noon Friday July 1, 2022 at New Life Church of Faith 1419 N. Bowman Ave, Danville. A visitation will begin at 11:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow after at Sanhill Memorial Park
