Corey Dean Lappin

Corey D. Lappin, 30, of Danville, IL passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday August 22nd, 2023 at 4:24 p.m. Corey was born in Danville, IL at Lakeview Hospital on March 21st, 1993 to Jennifer Lappin and AB Taylor III.

Corey graduated from Danville High School in 2011 and was hired at Watch Fire in 2013 as a Sign Worker and later became a welder. He maintained employment there until his passing.

Corey fell in love with his childhood sweetheart, Te’Erika and was married on January 1st, 2015; they welcomed their daugh- ter on April 30th, 2015.

Corey was a hard worker and an even more dedicated father and husband. Corey enjoyed spending time with his pride and joy, his daughter, Ma’Kenlee and coaching her softball team. Corey loved basketball and football and was a big fan of the New York Giants. He also enjoyed practicing and playing golf with his childhood best friend Kendrick Leek. Corey was known for his infectious smile and vibrant personality. Anyone that came in contact with Corey was sure to have a good laugh and a good time. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him and were lucky to call him dad, husband, son, father or friend.

Corey leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Te’Erika Lappin; his daughter, Ma’Kenlee Lappin; his parents, Jennifer Lappin and A.B. (Rachel) Taylor III; his sister, Kati Lappin; and, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and extended brothers, sisters and cousins.

Corey was preceded in death by both of his maternal grandparents, Grover and Carol Lappin and his paternal grandmother, Deborah Jones.

A celebration of life will commence at 12:00 Noon Wednesday August 30, 2023 at New Life Church of Faith 1419 N. Bowman Ave. Danville Eulogist: Pastor Arlen Kerst. A visitation will begin at 11:00 am until the start of the service. Burial will follow at Springhill Cemetery.

A public viewing will be held from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm. Tuesday August 29, 2023 at Leek & Sons Funeral Home 304 E. Williams St., Danville.
