Columbus Bryant 75 of Danville Illinois. Left to be with his Lord and Savior on August 26, 2022 surrounded by his family.
Columbus well known as “Man” Main” was the 8th child of Johnnie and Birdie Lee (Harper) Bryant. He was born February 24th, 1947 in Hamner Alabama. Columbus married the LOVE of his life Vickie Lynn “get me a cup of water” (Withers) Bryant. She proceeded him in November 17, 2017. Columbus enjoyed playing baseball, listening to the blues, known for cutting a mean rug and an avid fan of the Minnesota Viking. Don’t hold that against him and Mark LOL.
Columbus belonged to several committees which included: The Hotline committee that consisted of Lucille Brandon, Calvin Bryant, Jessie Bryant and Stephanie Bryant. They were committed to ensure they were all up to date on family affairs. He was the President of the Lyin Tree Committee. This committee was comprised of the following faithful members: Steve Brandon, The late Robert Earl “Lil Main” Bryant, Jeffrey Bryant, Darlene Harrison, James Washington and Alfornia “Deal” Bryant. I’m sure these committees will live on.
Columbus he is survived by his loving children, Colette Hampton of Irving, Texas, Jason Bryant of Fort Collins Colorado, Jeffrey (Donna) Bryant of Danville, Il, Mary Bryant of Indianapolis, In, Ciana Bryant of Danville, Il and Iesha Bryant of Champaign, Il. Surviving Siblings Lucille Brandon of Epes, Al, Jessie Bryant of Calumet City, Il and Calvin (Mandy) Bryant of South Haven, MS. Columbus has 24 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, a second momma Jaraiah Chamberlain.
Columbus is Proceed in death by his parents, his wife Vickie, 2 sons Michael and Derrick Bryant as well as 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
A Homegoing celebration will commence at 12:00 noon Friday September 2, 2022 at Leek & Sons Funeral Home, 304 E. Williams St. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
