Clyde Ray King

Clyde Raven (Ray) King left this earthly life on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at OSF Medical Hospital surrounded by his loved ones.  He was born on February 5, 1959 in Danville, IL to Clyde L. and Lucille (Robertson) King.  Ray graduated from Danville High School in 1977.  He joined the Air Force in 1978 and served our country for 5 yrs.  When he left the Air Force, moved  back to Danville and worked several different places in the city.relocated to Bullhead City, AZ.  Where he worked for the Waste Conservation Department for 2 years.  He then moved back to Danville and worked with Willard Airport In Savoy, Il.  He married Valerie Russell and they shared 9 years together.

He leaves behind his beloved Sons Austin Ray King of Danville, IL and Shane King of Anderson, IN. Two siblings, his sister Jacqueline Henson (William) of Danville IL, his brother Grailing  King (Stacey)  of Manhattan NY. Five nephews Lamont Marbury of Austin TX, Troy Marbury of Virginia Beach VA, Charlton and Triston Duncan of Manhattan NY and Dakota King of Manhattan NY.  One special Niece who was like a daughter Dionne Robinson of Danville, IL.  A host of family and friends.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents Lucille and Clyde King. 

Ray loved fishing, hunting, painting, going to casinos and helping others.  He also was known for that infectious sweet tooth and joy of snacking.

There are no words to convey the loss and the void that he leaves behind.  His loving kindness, helpfulness and happy spirit will be truly missed by everyone whose life he touched.  May God continue to bless and keep him on this final journey home. A Celebration of Life will commence at 12:00 Noon Tuesday May 9, 2023 at Leek & Sons Funeral Home 304 E. Williams St, Danville. A visitation will begin at 11:00 am until the time of the service.
