Clifford B. Cowen Jr. was born August 14, 1944 to Clifford Boyd Cowen Sr. and Lillie Bell Cowen in Cohassett, Alabama. Clifford was preceeded in death by his parents Clifford and Lillie Bell Cowen, six siblings Mary Alice Ewing, brother-in-law Wilbur Ewing, Lilliantene Cowen, Claudie James Cowen, Calvin (Big Fist) Cowen, Jerome (Chopper) Edward Cowen, Cousin-Brother Cyrus (Hawkin) Carter, bonus son Jamaule (Jay) Davis, granddaughter Dorothy Lester and special nephew Gary Pace.
Remaining to cherish the memory and legacy of Clifford B. Cowen Jr. is his wife, Varence L. Cowen, their children Danielle Chapman, Derrick B. Cowen, JaFaye Lillard, Michael Cat Ewing and Lamar (Nancy) Coleman. He also leaves to cherish his memory and legacy his siblings— Pastor Freddie (Marilyn) Cowen (brother), Martha Ann Cowen (sister) and Angerine (Mitch) Enox (sister), special granddaughters Arreal Cowen and Tae’tianna Lillard, special nieces Penny Pace and Marla Dye; a special friend Mac Allen and a host of family and friends.
A celebration of life will commence at 12:00 Noon January 25, 2025 at Leek & Sons Funeral Home 304 E. Williams St., Danville. A visitation will begin at 11:00 am until the time of the service.
