Christopher "CJ" Smalls

On Friday May 5, 2023, Christopher (CJ) Smalls 33 of Danville Illinois took his master’s hand and entered the heavenly gates.

Christopher Smalls was born October 29, 1989, to Lukresia Smalls and Damon Rowell. CJ as he was lovingly called by people he knew and did know.

CJ spent his early childhood years playing baseball alongside his friends and cousins (Quinn, Ashtyn, and Jaron), while being coached by his Uncle Tony Williams and Grandfather Nate "Bobo" Smalls. CJ was part of a cultivating team that won many games played at Prairie Farm Park.

CJ attended and graduated Danville High School. He also was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church where he served on the Pantry Committee every Thursday to help give back to the community. He was a faithful member who attended services every Sunday. He was always seen wearing a smile and greeting people with a warm and friendly hello. CJ was known for having an unbreakable bond with his nephew Josiah and shared a Special friendly relationship with Martazia. He had a strong passion for working out.

The love for his family was never ending, he always left them with an "I love you". CJ leave us to cherish father Damon Rowell, grandmothers Juanita Smalls, and Bernetta king, siblings 1 sister Antayzia Smalls  and 1 brother De'Andre Jackson 6 aunts Danna, Leslie (Tyrone), Breya, Nicole, Diana and Nima 5 uncles Tony, Darwin, Glenn, Guy and Jermaine

 and a host of cousins.

CJ was preceded in death by mother Lukersia, brother Nathan and grandfathers Nate Bobo Smalls, and Glenn Rowell Sr.

A celebration of life will commence at 12:00 Noon on Saturday May 13, 2023 at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church 311 Collett St, Danville. A visitation will begin at 11:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow after at Springhill Cemetery.
