Christina Jo Foster was born to Wardell and Ivadale (Foulks) Foster on January 16, 1963 in Danville, IL. Christina attended Collett School, South View and graduated from Danville High Class of 1981. After high school she moved to Champaign and attended Parkland college majoring in communications. She had a dream of becoming a news broadcaster. While attending school in Champaign she worked at the bus station for Greyhound and later was a volunteer for head start with Community Action. She was baptized at an early at Union Baptist Church, she attended Salem Baptist (Champaign, IL.), Victory Temple Church, and was a current member of Second Baptist Church here in Danville, IL. there she served as an usher, former choir member, and on the missionary society. Christina was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Laura Lee Fellowship House and Center City neighborhood association. She enjoyed cooking, baking, listening to music, dancing, spending time with her family and grandchildren. Christina never met a stranger.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her only child, Toya T. I. Dixon. Two grandchildren, De’Andre M. X. Brown and Tasheena S. Brown. Her only sister, Wardella M. Rouse. Nieces, Evonne M. (Leroy Jr.) Robinson, Nicole E. Rouse, nephew Robert E. Rouse, Jr. All of Danville, IL. Nephew, Mark E. (Candy) Rouse of Glendale, AZ. An aunt Freeda Washington of High Point, NC. A host of great nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was proceeded in death by her grandparents, parents, Wardell and Ivadale Foster, and a niece Carla J. Rouse. Special thanks to all her doctors, and the medical staff of OSF of Danville and Bloomington, IL.
A Homegoing Celebration will commence at 11:00 am Thursday October 15, 2020 at Leek & Sons Funeral Home. 304 E. Williams St, Danville. Officiating Pastor Bobby R. Keys Sr. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am until the time of the service. Interment will be follow after at Springhill Cemetery. A public viewing will be held on Wednesday October 14, 2020 at Leek & Sons Funeral Home. from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
