Charlesetta "Tina" Morton

Charlesetta “Tina” Morton, age 63, of 244 Parkview Lane in Savoy, Illinois, peacefully transitioned from this life at 12:57 p.m. on Sunday, May 10, at Carle Hospital in Urbana, Illinois.

Tina was born on September 22, 1962, in Danville, Illinois, to Bobby Morton Sr. and Mary Morton. She was one of six children and is survived by her mother Mary Morton, her sister Debra Swafford and her brother Cory Morton. She was preceded in death by her father Bobby Morton Sr. and siblings Carol Morton, Bobby Morton Jr. and Stormi Morton.

Tina attended Danville Area Community College and worked for the Housing Authority during her early years. She later relocated to Rantoul, Illinois, where she was employed as a machine press operator at Rantoul Products before retiring as a loving Nana in Savoy, Illinois.

Tina had a deep love for music. Michael Jackson was among her favorites, and she especially cherished praise and worship music, often listening to artists such as Bishop Paul Morton, CeCe Winans, and Fred Hammond. She was well known for her extensive and eclectic music collection.

She was a devoted mother to her son, Demetrius “DJ” Morton (Breanna), and a proud and loving grandmother to Ella Grace, Ruby Lee and Milo Charles. Tina took great joy in being a mother and a “Nana” and was a faithful and active member of her church community.

Tina was preceded in death by her father, Bobby Morton Sr.; her brother, Bobby Morton Jr.; and her sisters, Carol and Stormi Morton.

A Homegoing Celebration  will commence at 12:00 Noon Thursday May 21, 2026 at New Life Church of Faith, 1419 N. Bowman Ave. Danville. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be at Sanhill Memorial Park.
