Charles Harvey Williams

Charles Harvey Williams was born in Blytheville, Arkansas on August 27, 1961 to Elijah and Annie Mae (Davis) Williams. Charles moved to Champaign, IL in 1966. He attended Champaign Centennial High School. Charles was a skilled athlete who set records in basketball, his photo is still being represented in the Hall of Fame at Centennial. Charles later moved to Springfield, IL. 

Charles was quite the jokester of the family. He loved to cook and spend time with his family and friends.

Before Charles made his transition, he accepted the gift of salvation. On Friday, May 15, 2020, Charles entered fully into the presence of the Lord, where he has eternal life. He will be dearly missed by his loved ones, who can celebrate that Charles is not defeated, but he won the battle. 

Charles leaves to cherish his memories; One daughter, Charlisa Williams of Illinois and One son, Charles Blissit. Four brothers, Fred Williams of San Francisco, California, Johnny(Maria) Williams, Ron (Debbie) Smith of Champaign, IL and John H. Williams of Springfield, IL. Four loving sisters, Ann Lockett, Willa(Roosevelt) Harper, Katherine Underwood, all of Champaign, IL and Beatrice(Darrell) Rich of Fayetteville, Georgia. A host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. 

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers; Elisha Williams and David Williams.

A Home Going Celebration will commence at Noon on May 21, 2020 at Leek & Sons Funeral Home, Urbana. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am until the time of the service. Officiating Pastor Andre Crittenden. Interment East Lawn Cemetery.
