Brian Smith

On this day of August 1st, 1970, our beloved Brian Smith was born to JoAnn Smith and Russell Phillips of Champaign Illinois.  He was cherished in the days of his youth with his siblings, sisters, Delinda JoAnn Smith and Brenda Smith Manning, as well as his brothers, Samuel and Aaron Smith.  He is survived by His wife, Amy Marie Smith, his children Coty and Tiffany Decker, and his children thereof along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and loved ones.

Brian was skilled with charm and gifts. A man’s man with a contagious smile and friendly demeanor wherever he sojourned.  Brian was skilled in martial arts, making him a warrior and leader among men, wrought with high intelligence, brute strength, and a strong will to survive. Good with his hands, he could fix just about anything from automobiles to building construction. His greatest gift was his willingness to ask for forgiveness. Upon the day he passed, his last gift to his family was to admit his wrongs and ask for their forgiveness. Then on August 23rd, 2021, Brian transitioned in peace from a broken heart.

Our beloved Brian was welcomed home in Glory by his mother, his father, grandparents, and his sister Delinda. Our Beloved will be greatly missed. We send our love with him on his journey to the presence of the Most High. Loving you endlessly and eternally, always and forever, with never ending love.

A celebration of life will commence at 12:00 Noon Friday September 3, 2021 at Leek & Sons Funeral Home, 1215 W. Bradley Ave. Urbana. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am until the time of the service.
