Born on February 23, 1942, Arie Nell Davis, affectionately known as Mother Harris, was the heart and soul of her family. As a wife to Herbert Harris, she shared a beautiful partnership built on love and mutual respect for over 20 years. She nurtured and raised 7 children with love, wisdom, constant support and a firm hand. She was a loving mother to Brenda, Jerome, David, Dennis, Dominique, Maurice, and Lamont, and her heart expanded even further as she embraced the role of grandmother to 14 adoring grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
A faithful servant of God, Arie was a beloved Mother of the Church. She was appointed Head Church Mother, in 2022, at Acts Triumphant Ministries-Danville. Her unwavering faith and dedication to the church were evident in everything she did. She was a beacon of hope, love, and light to all who came into her presence, offering prayers, encouragement, and support. Arie was known for her acts of kindness, always lending a helping hand, a listening ear, and a warm embrace to those in need.
Beyond her work within the church, she was a pillar of the community. Many of those that loved her were introduced to her during her many years of service at the neighborhood corner store, “Eastside Grocery”, commonly referred to as “Nettas”. Arie believed in the power of unity and worked tirelessly to uplift those around her through her generosity, support of local events and businesses, and always offering words of encouragement. She made a profound impact on everyone she met. Her love for others knew no bounds, and her kindness was a reflection of the love she carried in her heart.
Arie leaves a lasting legacy of faith, love, and service. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will live on in the lives of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all those she touched with her unconditional love.
