Antoinette Echols, known as Ann, transitioned to paradise on December 31, 2022, at 4:54 a.m. Ann was born on March 12, 1964, in Danville, IL to Walter Echols, Sr. and Bessie Echols. She had 10 siblings, Walter Jr. (Georgetown), Robert (Peoria), Danny (Deceased), Fredrick (Deceased), Eric (Georgetown), David (Danville), Beatrice (Indianapolis), Tarra (Indianapolis), Hattie (Deceased) and Bessie (Deceased).
She grew up in church attending Antioch Missionary Baptist Church with her family.
Ann attended and graduated from Danville High School and then went on to further her education at Danville Area Community College. She worked as a CNA in her early adulthood. After years in the medical field, she went on to be a Case Worker for the Department of Health Family Services, where she retired after 14 years.
Ann was a wonderful and caring person and was often complimented on her beautiful eyes and smile. Ann would help anyone if they needed help and didn’t mind putting you in your place when you needed it. Ann enjoyed watching tv, sewing, and drinking coffee in the mornings. She also loved to talk to her sisters, Beatrice and Tarra everyday, all day. Most of all, Ann loved to spend time with her family and friends.
She leaves to cherish her legacy, sons, William Sr. and Christopher of Danville, IL; and daughters, Erikka and Christina, who is the granddaughter she raised as her own, of Indianapolis, IN; 11 grandchildren, De’Ja, William Jr., De’Janee, Ju’van, Richard (Tre), Dominique, Lauren, Kora, Ronnie,a nd Christopher Jr.; many other sons and daughters that were in her life over the years; three good friends, Cheryl Robinson, Amber (Jerry) Wilson and Mellownee Anglin; and, a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and four siblings.
A Celebration of Life will commence at 12:00 Noon Saturday January 14, 2023 at New Life Church of Faith 1419 N. Bowman Ave. Eulogist: Reverend Jerry Wilson. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am until the time of the service.
